Parts Demand Planner

Permanent (Full-Time)

The demand planner will create and maintain forecast models, incorporating business intelligence (Servigistics) and related forecast information.

  • Manage all aspects of special parts sales programs
  • React immediately to stock-outs, missed supplier lead times, or transit delays
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data
SUMMARY

The position is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with service parts. The demand planner will create and maintain forecast models, incorporating business intelligence (IDMS/Servigistics/AI) and related forecast information gathered from internal technical support, customer service, product development, engineering, field sales, and the dealer organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, manage statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Execute the statistical demand forecast, push to the buyer team, and ensure timely approval, confirmation, and submission of the purchase order(s).
  • Coordinate cross-functional research and activities to reconcile and refine the forecast model, thereby improving forecast accuracy and reducing obsolescence.
  • Collaborate with field service and dealers to promote Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) to ensure stock is readily available during scheduled maintenance.
  • Collaborate with product support to ensure retrofit/modification/campaign parts are ordered and delivered promptly.
  • Attend and participate in regular meetings with global mining account clients and selected high volume customers and dealers.
  • Manage all aspects of special parts sales programs. Ensure parts are delivered directly or via the warehouses to the customer, dealer, or mine site within the program-stated lead time.
  • React immediately to stock-outs, missed supplier lead times, or transit delays with timely communication to the customer service team. Place purchase orders as needed to support the dealers. Prepare and submit, with supporting documentation, recommendations for annual inventory write-off or a scrap of company assets.
  • Prepare and submit initial orders for new machines.
  • Participate in the biweekly inventory meetings.
  • Lead weekly forecast stock order review meetings with upper management.
  • Obtain data from other departments on machine sales forecasts and in-service machine conditions and reflect it in the parts demand forecasting model.
REQUIREMENTS
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • APICS or other forecasting Certification
  • 5+ years of practical working experience in demand planning/inventory control.
  • Prior experience with PTC/Servigistics forecasting software.
